Grades 1-12 Ren is a big city kid who has moved to a small rural town and there isn't much to do. The local Reverend has convinced the town to outlaw anything fun and Ren can't handle it! Ren, Ariel (the Reverend's daughter) and other kids from town help convince the people that a little bit of fun isn't evil. Based on the 1985 hit Movie. In this three-day, half-day camp, participants will learn the basics of horse care and experience beginner riding in a supportive environment. Snacks and craft supplies provided. "Join Eagle Bluff's educators in their inflatable planetarium to explore seasonal constellations, their science, and their stories." NOTE: The Planetarium can only hold 50 individuals at one time and pre-registration is required. Sign-ups will be verified at the door for the appropriate time. Walk-ins will not be accepted. The Eagle Bluff Planetarium is a free community program due to the partnership between the Lonsdale Public Library and TCU Community Education Department.

Ages 13+. Get ready to turn down the lights and turn up the glow! In this high-energy, glow-in-the-dark workshop, participants will create a custom canvas featuring their name in glowing white surrounded by vibrant neon splatter paint that pops under blacklight in Southern MN’s only Paint Splat Room! Participants will layer neon splatters, drips, and accents around their name using fun techniques like flicking, dripping, and splashing paint. Every canvas turns out totally unique—no two glow creations are the same! Dress for the mess.

Ages 5-12. Celebrate the start of summer with one of our messiest, happiest, most giggle-filled workshops yet! In this high-energy Blacklight Paint Splat Studio experience, artists will create their own glow-in-the-dark splatter monster canvas using bright neon paints and playful splat techniques. We’ll be tossing, splashing, and splattering paint to design silly, one-of-a-kind “monster” masterpieces—no two will ever look the same! Dress for the mess.

Recommended grades 2-6. Mentioning being home alone to your child can be a scary topic. Children think of the excitement and freedom they have when being left alone. The main tip to leaving your child home alone is having the knowledge and confidence to do so. Whether your child is being left alone for an hour after school or a full day on the weekend, the child needs to feel comfortable in their surroundings. Topics discussed in this course include personal safety tips, stranger danger, basic first aid, storm safety, internet safety, dealing with siblings as well as having fun while staying home alone.

Entering grades 2-4. We'll tackle new concepts and improve number sense through fun math games and challenges.

Entering grades 4-8. Come experience the joy of mathematics through laughter and games. You will also learn some mental math tricks and why they work, find patterns in unexpected places, and impress friends with your guesstimation skills.

Ages 5+. Celebrate Mom with a gift that’s heartfelt, handmade, and delicious. In this special Mother’s Day workshop, you’ll create a hand-painted mason jar vase filled with charming chocolate “flowers” made from wrapped, flavored chocolates—because flowers are nice, but chocolate flowers? Even better. You’ll start by painting your own mason jar in soft, spring-inspired colors (or go bold—Mom rules here). Once your vase is dry, you’ll arrange faux flower blooms with chocolate centers to create a beautiful, gift-ready piece that’s perfect for displaying long after Mother’s Day… or enjoying one chocolate at a time.

During this 3 day presentation on online safety, topics will include the following information: · What to do when dealing with a cyberbully · How to protect personal information and how to spot potentially unreliable information · What to do if encountering someone/something that makes them feel sad, scared, or confused and Strategies for dealing with the inappropriate behaviors of others. · How to recognize healthy and unhealthy relationships · Understanding the risks of deepfakes, and AI. · Encouraging children to ask for help These presentations will include video, activities, and group discussions. Grades 2-6. Build, Battle, and Conquer! Get ready for epic LEGO® model battles in our RC Battles camp! Design, build, and program your own remote-controlled LEGO® models to compete in thrilling challenges. Learn strategies to develop effective tactics for winning battles. Apply engineering principles to design and build models that are both powerful and durable. Students will be working in small teams of 2-3. Bring a lunch from home.

Toad houses, ugly fish and painted rocks, let's explore art this summer! Kids will be painting, working with clay and printmaking during this four day, project based class. Be prepared to get messy. For students entering grades 4-8.

Ages 4-6. This fun-filled camp invites children to explore dancing, creative movement, beginner tumbling, and stretching through music and play. Campers will enjoy a provided snack to rest and refuel their bodies before jumping back into more movement and dancing fun!

Kids in grades 3–6 will squeeze, dip, and bake their way through fresh lemonade, “fried” Oreos, and crispy pickles. Hands-on fun you can eat!

For students entering grades 3-6. Are you interested in learning about robotics? Are you interested in building and putting things together? This class will use an interactive program called VEX IQ. VEX IQ is a snap together robotics system designed to provide new users the chance to learn about the building process of robotics quickly and can continue to challenge learners as their skills develop. This is the same program that TCU uses in their 5th and 6th grade STEAM Robotics classes but we will be completing a different robot build during our session.

For students entering grades 6-8. Do you like robots? Are you interested in learning to code them? Do you like building things? Have you been thinking about joining the TCU Middle or High School Robotics Team? This class will use the VEX V5 system to teach you how to use the tools and materials provided to build a motorized base for a competitive robot and how to create a basic code that will allow you to drive your robot with a remote control.
