2026 Drivers’ Education Program Information Minnesota requires minors begin their Driver Education by completing 30 hours of classroom instruction. We offer classroom instruction several times throughout the year and try to accommodate the students and their activities. Students should be 15 within two months of the start date of the classroom session they want to attend. Students may be asked to wait for a later class if they are registering too far ahead of their 15th birthday. If you have a student who is not 15 within 2-months of the start of class, we can put them on a waitlist and if the class does not fill, we will call those on the waitlist in birth date order. There is a 90 minute supplemental parent meeting, “Point of Impact”, and a 40 hour mandated supervised driving log, 15 hours of which are nighttime hours are required. One parent or guardian must attend this meeting. If parents do not participate in the “Point of Impact” presentation, the supervised driving log must show 50 hours of driving time, 15 hours of which are nighttime hours. Class will be held at the TCU High School in the MEDIA CENTER and ROOM B115 COMPUTER LAB off of the TCU School Concession Stand and Commons Area along with the Point of Impact Parent meeting. Enter through the main school doors and go across the Commons Area towards the school store. Students will be notified on their student email of any changes to class or learning model if needed. Note: We’ve switched on-line registration software systems. If you haven’t done so already, you’ll need to create a new account prior to registering. As mandated by the state, when you register for Driver’s Ed. classroom you will be automatically registered for Behind the Wheel. The total cost of our program will be $395 (for TCU students) and the total will be due upon registering for the class. The total fee must accompany the registration form. Space is limited and classes fill quickly. Students and families are asked to plan carefully as attendance is required at all classes. Students must attend all sessions as the state requires 30 hours of seat time for this class. The only excused reasons to miss a class are illness or a family emergency such as a funeral and only one absence is allowed even with these situations, make-up work must be done. Please do not ask to miss for any other reason. No other absences will be granted! Hunting, vacations, sports or other optional activities are not valid excuses. Any program change is totally at the discretion of the session instructor, and additional charges may be made if the instructor has to put in extra time for makeup. Be sure your student is on time, prepared and has made transportation arrangements to and from the class site. Students please bring your chromebook, DE manual, paper and pencil to class. Taking this program is a privilege and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. There will also be work assigned that must be completed for the course. Students must understand that the instructor has the right to withhold your blue card if your work is not complete or if behavior is unacceptable. Students must also realize that state law mandates you attend all 30 hours of the class. This E-Blue Card must be presented when the permit test is taken. E- Blue Cards are critical requirements of the Drivers’ Training process. Students/parents who misplace/delete the E- Blue Card will be charged a $5 replacement fee. Permit tests are offered at several places. Students must show two forms of ID when taking the permit test. A certified birth certificate (not from the hospital) and social security card are two usual forms of ID. The social security card must be signed, but not laminated. After obtaining their permit, students can drive with their parents or other adults over 21. Information for all exam stations is found on the DVS website at dvs.dps.mn.gov. On the right side of the page click on the Driver & Vehicle Services Office Locations Map. Enter the address or zip code of your location, and check the appropriate test box below. Exam stations will be populated by those in closest proximity to the zip code or address entered. Behind the Wheel When you pay the full amount for the classroom, this fee also covers Behind the Wheel. Our three Instructors will provide a Sign-Up Genius Link for scheduling Behind the Wheel in early Spring for BTW summer driving. We do take a few students for fall and spring Behind the Wheel at the availability of our Instructors based on their schedules. We do not drive over the winter. Students should have at least 10 hours driving experience with a licensed adult completed prior to scheduling Behind the Wheel. If you miss a scheduled time for your BTW training and do not notify the instructor, there is a $50 fee for the missed time. You will need to pay this at the TCU Community Education office before you get your E-white card. The E-white card is issued/emailed when BTW is completed and is a person’s ticket to go take their BTW test at the state along with completion of 40-50 hours of driving with a licensed adult. Registrations are preferred to be done on-line. You may register online; go to Community Education to the registration page https://tcu2905.arux.app/. If a paper registration is needed or you have questions regarding Driver’s Education, please contact the TCU Community Education office at 507-364-8107. Sessions are filled on a first come first served basis. Refunds must be requested at least one week before the class begins, and no refunds will be given after this date.

Our 7th and 8th grade training sessions will be a combination of skill development and competitive drills and scrimmages. Coaches will provide players with a chance to continue to improve their skills at passing, serving, hitting, blocking, and setting. Additionally, they will train players in one defensive system and how to work as a team during competitive play. Players should be prepared to have one-two positions that they are willing/able to play.

This class covers common pitfalls, misconceptions and just plain bad information out in today’s marketplace. We will discuss and provide detailed information on the tools and strategies to ensure: (i) a peaceful transition between generations, (ii) a clear understanding of tax implications of your choices, and (iii) the best methods to protect your hard-earned assets. Attending this class will help you gain valuable insights and experience to make informed decisions for you and your family’s future. All questions are welcome in this open-room presentation. Join Ney Nature Center staff for a fun 3-day archery experience! Practice your aim, learn the basic techniques for range activities, and learn a fun and exciting new skill! No prerequisites required – beginners encouraged to join. Ages 9-14. Please note there is no shade available at the range; so please bring water, sunscreen and protective clothing as it can get hot.

Must be 11 years old by the class date. Instructions given on baby development, first aid, diapering, including review of infant/child CPR. Please bring a large doll for diapering practice. Fee includes a first aid kit.

This class will introduce you to the concepts of growing edibles in small spaces and how to use it to your advantage. Whether you live in a townhome, an apartment, a small home with little yard space, you can learn to grow something. We will discuss different containers that could be used for growing, best soil and amendments, what grows well in containers and encouragement for a successful summer. You will go home with knowledge and a small container planted for your summer.

Ages 6-12. Give your child a fun and safe introduction to the world of horses! In this three-day, half-day camp, participants will learn the basics of horse care and experience beginner riding in a supportive environment. Snacks and craft supplies provided. Transportation not provided. Parents must sign a camp waiver. Perfect for kids who love animals, are curious about horses, or want a gentle introduction to riding and horse care. Indoor arena available for inclement weather. Designed for dancers entering grades 5–7, this camp focuses on skills used on the high school dance team, including kicks, leaps, jumps, turns, and choreography. Participants will build technique, confidence, and performance skills. Current high school dance team members will help lead activities and mentor campers. Perfect for dancers interested in future dance team participation or looking to improve their skills!

This is a relaxed and friendly open-forum seminar for participants with a seasoned Will & Trust attorney. Questions like: Should I avoid Probate? Is a Will good enough? Do I need a Trust? How does my plan deal with the nursing home? How do we gift the assets of husband and wife? What about separate assets not of the marriage? If I am alone, what tools protect me best? How do I decide who should serve in my estate plan? What is the death tax? How do I avoid leaving a mess for my children? Which Trust is best for my needs? Can I use a Transfer-On-Death Deed? Ages 13+. Get ready to turn down the lights and turn up the glow! In this high-energy, glow-in-the-dark workshop, participants will create a custom canvas featuring their name in glowing white surrounded by vibrant neon splatter paint that pops under blacklight in Southern MN’s only Paint Splat Room! Participants will layer neon splatters, drips, and accents around their name using fun techniques like flicking, dripping, and splashing paint. Every canvas turns out totally unique—no two glow creations are the same! Dress for the mess.

Ages 5-12. Celebrate the start of summer with one of our messiest, happiest, most giggle-filled workshops yet! In this high-energy Blacklight Paint Splat Studio experience, artists will create their own glow-in-the-dark splatter monster canvas using bright neon paints and playful splat techniques. We’ll be tossing, splashing, and splattering paint to design silly, one-of-a-kind “monster” masterpieces—no two will ever look the same! Dress for the mess.

Recommended grades 2-6. Mentioning being home alone to your child can be a scary topic. Children think of the excitement and freedom they have when being left alone. The main tip to leaving your child home alone is having the knowledge and confidence to do so. Whether your child is being left alone for an hour after school or a full day on the weekend, the child needs to feel comfortable in their surroundings. Topics discussed in this course include personal safety tips, stranger danger, basic first aid, storm safety, internet safety, dealing with siblings as well as having fun while staying home alone.

Join us for Kickoff to Kindergarten, hosted at all of our TCU locations. Co-taught by our PreK and Kindergarten teams, your child will have a fun-filled, submersive school experience as you all prepare for the Kindergarten transition! This class is a drop-off class, allowing children to build independence while participating in hands-on activities, play-based learning, and social interaction with peers. Additional details, including classroom-specific information and what to bring, will be shared by your child’s teacher prior to the start of class.
